Abhyanga: Ayurvedic warm oil massage with one or two therapists

An ancient treatment using warm, herbal infused oils (selected according to the body type), that is designed to improve circulation, remove toxins, calm the nervous system, and enhance immunity. This soothing synchronized massage allows the therapeutic qualities of the herbs and oils to penetrate deeply into your body promoting healing at the micro-cellular level. This is commonly followed by a steam in our cedar steam cabinet with herbs especially suited for your body type.

The practitioner(s) will luxuriously massage warm oil into the tissues of your entire body to help loosen and facilitate the removal of accumulated doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha) and ama (toxins) from the body. You will leave feeling completely relaxed, nourished and rejuvenated.

Shiro Dhara: Oil Bliss Therapy

Shirodhara is a unique and profound Ayurvedic treatment that especially acts to heal and address the psychological and spiritual aspects of a person. In Sanskrit, ‘shiro’ means head and ‘dhara’ means flow; so Shirodhara is a steady flow of warm medicated oil over the third eye center and forehead. It is this steady, rhythmic pouring of oil that induces a deeply relaxing and blissful state of consciousness called ‘Turiya’ (the state of awareness that is neither fully conscious nor deep sleep). While in this Turiya state, we are able to witness and/or release impressions in our conscious and subconscious mind; thus removing stored up triggers that cause anxiety, mental health disorders, insomnia, etc.

The brow and third eye center are associated with the fundamental endocrine glands (pituitary, pineal & hypothalamus), which regulate all hormonal secretions. These hormonal secretions are responsible not only for the autonomic responses which control digestion, breath, elimination, etc., but are also responsible for our moods and emotional states. Shirodhara is meant to establish a state of parasympathetic response or relaxation. During the session, we carefully and lovingly weave in sounds and aromas to soothe your senses.

Uro Basti: Heart-Opening Therapy

50 minutes total time includes a gentle head, neck, chest and face massage followed by basti application.

Urobasti: (oil retention over the heart region) is administered on the chest. In this treatment, a small ring of dough is made on the chest, around the region of the sternum and medicated oil is poured into it and kept there for a specific time.

*Physical pain felt in the chest should be looked at by a primary health care practitioner.*

Keta Basti: Root Chakra Opening Therapy

50 minutes total time includes a gentle back massage followed by the basti application.

Katibasti: (oil retention over the sacrum region) Oil is poured into a dam made of dough and placed on the sacrum region and kept there for a specific time.

Udvartana: Herbal Scrub

With Udvartana, the client is massaged with an aromatic, dried, finely ground herbal powder. The uniqueness of this therapy is that the stroking motion during the massage is upwards or towards the heart, along with the micro-exfoliation provided by the fine powder which leaves skin unbelievably soft. After this process the client is given a brief full body oil massage with herbal infused oils for their body type.

Add-Ons

Lepa: Herbal Paste Application and Toxin Removal Therapy – ($35 add-on to any treatment)

Localized Lepa / Upanahasweda: is when herbal paste is applied to specific parts of the body to treat organs and disorders of the joints and skin. In this treatment, an aromatic, soothing warm paste is applied to the kidney area, detoxifying and nourishing the kidneys and adrenals. Additional 20 minutes.

Swedana: Full Body Steam— ($35.00 add-on to any treatment)

Ooshmasweda / Bashpasweda: A very comfortable and effective sauna treatment in which the body is steamed, but not the head. This is full body steam where the head is kept cool at all times, since according to ayurvedic principles, the head should never experience direct heat. Steam softens and makes muscles and joints limber, detoxifies the tissues, and enhances the effects of massage. Additional 15-25 minutes.

Nasya: Oiling Nasal Passages ($20)

Add-on only. Optional: purchase oil from the front desk to take home after treatment.

Nasya is an ancient Ayurvedic therapy that reduces vata symptoms in the body like brain fog, an inability to focus, loss of concentration, anxiety, insomnia and sinus problems. Additional 10 minutes.

Skin Brushing ($20)

Add-on only. Optional: purchase brushes from the front desk to take home after treatment for an additional $5.

Lymphatic skin brushing before a massage helps remove dead skin and increases the amount of oil absorbed in to the body. Increases the immune system and aids in detoxifying the body and in weight loss. Additional 15 minutes.

60 minute Abyhanga massage with one therapist, followed by a Full Body Steam Sauna treatment. Treatment time is 1 hour, 30 minutes: $130.

Nurturing Bliss

60 minute Abyhanga massage with one therapist, followed by Shirodhara Bliss Therapy, & Full Body Steam Sauna treatment. Treatment time is 2 hours, $205.

Aromatic Bliss

Ubvartan Aromatic Exfoliation with one therapist, 60 minute Abyhanga massage, followed by a Full Body Steam Sauna. Treatment time is 2 hours, 25 minutes: $225.

Day of Healing

Ubvartan Aromatic Exfoliation with one therapist, 60 minute Abyhanga massage, Shirodhara Bliss Therapy, followed by a Full Body Steam Sauna. Treatment time is 3 hours: $300.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy," (known as Ki in Japanese and Prana in Sanskrit and Chi in Chinese) flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
