I have been seeing Keesha Ewers since 2009. She has the best of both worlds when it comes to mainstream and alternative medicine. As an ARNP, she can prescibe medications if needed and authorize diagnostic tests. So I don't have to shuttle back and forth between a primary physician and an alternative therapist.

Keesha's specialty is Ayurveda. I went through her basic elimination diet, Panchakarma treatment and few other detox regimens. What I love about her style, is that she uses food as medicine and does not rely on too many herbs and concoctions for the long-term.

I will not say that it is easy. It requires a lot of discipline in terms of sticking to the prescribed diet. But it is so well-worth at the end, and there is so much support from Keesha and her staff, they make you feel so well cared for. Keesha herself is so involved in every detail of the treatment, follows-up diligently and is very compassionate when it comes to dealing with all ups and downs of the treatment.

I'm in such good health now, I don't have to really go to FernLife Center anymore! And this is from just 2 months of treatment. But seeing my awesome results, my family has started going there too.

I'd highly recommend Fern Life Center to anyone who is looking for better health, the natural way.

I have been under the care of Keesha Ewers, the primary medical care provider at Fern Life Center, for two years. During that time I have received excellent care. Ms Ewers draws on her expertise in both Western and Ayurvedic medicine. In addition to being highly skilled and knowledge, she brings a love and compassion to her work and to her patients that I have never experienced in any other health care provider. She takes time to thoroughly assess the cause of illness and then recommends the treatment she feels will provide deep and lasting healing for her patients. My health has greatly improved since I have been a patient at Fern Life Center and under Ms Ewers' care. Additionally, I have made significant positive life style changes that have been supported by her and her staff. I highly recommend Fern Life Center and the Director and Founder, Keesha Ewers. If you would like additional information, feel free to e-mail me at sfrowert@gmail.com.

I sought out Keesha and Fern Life Center when my endocrinologist told me I was pre-diabetic. His only solution (outside of "try exercising more and eating better") was medication. I knew there was a better way. First, Keesha really listened to my issues--which were more than just blood sugar related. She helped me see my health as part of a holistic journey. She did tests I'd never had (or had even been considered for me!) and found out I am allergic to gluten. After eliminating gluten from my diet, I've been able to also eliminate two medications I have taken for years for asthma--including a steroid inhaler. The elimination diet she put me on--as well as the Ideal Protein diet--have resulted not only in weight loss but also cleared pain from all my joints, including my budding carpal tunnel syndrome. I feel better, have more energy, and I'm down to two prescription medications (from 5). Keesha is great at getting to the root of your health problems instead of giving you medications to treat only the symptoms. She can also tell you, in layman's terms, how your body's organs and systems are connected and how stress on one organ can impact others (such as thyroid). I'm so glad I found Fern Life Center. It is not always an easy journey, but isn't your health worth it?

Exhausted by western medicine's technique of offering only medication that masked symptoms, I took my more than decade-long health issues to Fern Life and Keesha Ewers. I found not only an empathetic approach, but one which set me on a path to treat the causes of the problems. No western doctor ever tested me to determine that I was pre-diabetic, even though there was a history of Type 2 diabetes in my immediate family. Keesha's thorough testing protocol uncovered that and other key diagnoses that have a severe impact on my future health. Through a carefully designed plan with frequent fine-tuning, I am finally on the road to reducing and hopefully eliminating the medications and regaining a healthy life. I feel that my association with the Fern Life Center has significantly improved my chances for a longer, illness-free life.

I first went to see Keesha in February of this year with multiple concerns the most important being high blood pressure, joint and muscle pain and major fatigue. I've had previous experience with Ayervedic medicine and knew I would be needing to change my diet and add supplements. I had resisted going in for some time as I was not quite ready to make the changes, but finally hit the tipping point and made my appointment. It felt a little overwhelming but the improvements in all of my areas of concern was very rapid, within a few days of starting. Though I may find it somewhat challenging some days to stick to the foods that are best for me and leave the not-so-good-for-me foods alone and to take all of my supplements faithfully, the lowered blood pressure, absence of pain and increased energy are highly motivating and I have done well. My body feels so much better than it did it's like a miracle! I would and have recommended Keesha to friends and family. There's no doubt in my mind that what Keesha offers can benefit any of us that is willing to take action on the information.

After a friend described similar heath issues as my husbands and her satisfaction of the care that she received through Keesha, I decided to make appointments for both my husband and myself.

After several diagnostic tests which showed some very immediate health concerns, we appreciated that we had a willing partner in Keesha who helped by showing us how we could take control of our health.

We began a journey of self imposed improved health via a elimination diet which admittedly was difficult at first however our bodies showed us the benefits through greater energy and mental clarity and weight loss. The importance of the strict elimination diet starts to hit home as you start adding foods back in and see the effects that the wrong foods have on us and affect us metabolically. You really start to grasp the "our food becomes us", when you feel how certain things that you think that you love to eat really screw you up. It becomes easier to look for an alternative to that pain by letting it go. I "loved" coffee but there are alternatives to coffee which are better for you and very tastly without the acids and caffeine for example.

We are in this 8 weeks now and we are so happy that we have been empowered and are determined to take advantage of this opportunity to turn our lives around from the inside out. IT TAKES DISCIPLINE. If you have it, you will be rewarded by your efforts.

Take advantage of what is available at the Fern Life Center through Keesha. Her guidance to your own self-health care is good prevention and a cost effective alternative especially if you have immediate health concerns which most certainly will cost you more in the long run....we really do become what we eat!

Fern Life Center has brought me back to life! I have spent the last 10 years struggling with chronic illnesses that no doctor could ever fix. I continued to get worse and worse until my life became only dealing with illness. I started seeing Keesha 1 month ago and it is like a MIRACLE has happened! 4 weeks ago I was done for the day by 5:00 pm - no energy even to make dinner or to help my kids with homework. I was too sick to take a walk, do yoga and unable to ride a bike. Just making it to work was becoming a challenge. This week I attended 5 evening yoga classes, bought a new bicycle because my vertigo is subsiding, and have normal blood pressure! I feel better than I have in 5 years and I can't wait to see how amazing I am going to feel tomorrow. Keesha is so kind and supportive and is an unbelievable healer. The Center also offers a wonderful meditation program (which is one of the reasons I am healing so quickly!) and other education opportunities like cooking classes and weekend seminars. Going to Fern Life Center will be the greatest gift you will ever give yourself. Be prepared for miracles!

I learned of Fern Life Center in April 2007 searching for an Eastside massage center.  The massage was nothing short of heavenly.  I scheduled a facial within days – another blissful experience.

A pamphlet about Keesha’s Ayurvedic class caught my eye.  I hadn’t heard of Ayurveda before and went to the class.  I admit I was skeptical during the class, but I scheduled a follow-up appointment with Keesha.    I had this innate feeling that I was supposed to be there.

I started the detox and PK program, gradually working on my emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual challenges.  I became more aware about my health, nutrition, relationships, and balancing my life.  Keesha’s program gave me the skills and knowledge that began a journey of transformation.  Two years later I am still benefiting from her wisdom and still learning about myself.  My journey continues to be transformative and self reflective.

Keesha has a natural, authentic, non-threatening style of communicating.  She is one of the most genuine individuals I know.  I trust her like no one I’ve ever met before in my life.  She is truly a gifted healer balancing emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of individuals.  I cannot speak highly enough for her, the programs and the staff of Fern Life Center.

This program is nothing short of revolutionary!  After dealing with chronic pain for 12+ years and trying numerous hearling modalities, the Fern Life Center program has been the answer.  Now, I feel buoyant, light, full of energy and confident.  My children say I'm happier, not as stressed out, and more flexible.  Plus, I smile more!"  I came across this quote from Anne Morrow Lindbergh this weekend in her book Gifts from the Sea:  "The problem is how to remain whole in the midst of the distractions of life; how to remain balanced, no matter what shocks come in at the periphery and tend to crack the hub of the wheel.  For to be a woman is to have interests and duties, ranging out in all directions from the cental mother-core, like spokes from the hub of a wheel."  I think that Ayurveda is the answer to this problem!  Thank you!

Admittedly,  I knew very little about Ayurveda before coming to Fern Life Center.  It has been a life changing experience that has no boundaries.  I have fundamentally transformed the way I think about health, life balance, nutrition and relationships.  It is all an amazing journey full of self reflection, revelations and personal growth.  I would recommend it to anyone who is truly committed to the challenge of being all they can be in this lifetime and has the passion to live their dreams.

Since finding the Fern Life Center and working with Keesha my life has changed in dramatic ways.   A friend recommend I come here during a difficult and transitional point in my life.  I had done some reading on the Science of Yoga and Ayurveda and was very interested in integrating both of them into my current health regimen.  I was not prepared for the dramatic transformation I was about to undergo.  Although the some of the therapies were very intense their power to heal were amazing;  I felt the years of stress and anxiety (as well as all of their accompanying side effects) melt away.  Physically I felt like a new person.

Keesha is a gifted healer;  she is very intune with the needs of her patients in all aspects.   She has a natural way of connecting with others in a deep, authentic way.   It has been a delight to work with her to balance my emotional and mental bodies.  I fully believe in her power to help individuals find balance and wellness in body, mind and spirit.

A brief testimonial about my experience with Fern Life:  I became a client at the beginning of the year. I was looking for something to kick start a holistic health regimen that I could not seem to start on my own. I started with a detox and PK and the results exceeded my expectation. I started January 21 and six weeks later I am still benefiting greatly.

The program has provided the turning point to which I have added focus, discipline and consistency. I had started the mental/ emotional work with Keesha and feel that her approach is one that can provide skills and insights that I was looking for that can benefit me for the rest of my life.

I first came to the Fern Life Center almost a year ago after having spent three years seeing different doctors, searching for an answer to my mysterious illness.  I had finally been diagnosed with a hormonal disorder, but the only treatment I could find only made me sicker.  A friend suggested Ayurveda, and I was ready to try anything.

Keesha was very encouraging right away - she had more answers and insight than anyone else I had seen.  I knew I needed to change my diet (my metabolism was not working right) but no other doctors had had any suggestions - they just wanted me to take medications.

Keesha made me an individualized diet plan.  It was a huge change, and required a lot of sacrifice.  But I immediately felt better, and now, 11 months later, I've lost 40 pounds, have a ton more energy, and no longer crave sweets.  I feel like I'm really nourishing my body.  I'm still not perfect at it - it's certainly a work in progress - but it's been completely worth it.

Pancha Karma itself was amazing - I have wanted to repeat it ever since!  The therapists were so sensitive and knew exactly what to do to detox my body and open me up to balance and healing.  It's hard to explain what it feels like if you haven't been through it.  But after so many doctors had given me their answers that only made me feel sicker, and being told to wait through the side effects which would go away (though they rarely did), it was amazing to do something that felt so honest and fundamental, and felt good right away.  The only "side effects" were that my hair and skin came out deep conditioned, soft and radiant.  It was still exhausting to have my body change and detox that quickly, but after pancha karma I felt like a new person.  My body had finally been opened up and cleared out so that I could begin healing.  I had so much more energy and focus.

The healing process has still been long and difficult since then.  I had a lot to work through, and years of imbalance don't go away overnight.  But it's really happening.  I'm really learning to understand myself and find balance inside my body and my life.  I know that this is what I needed.  It's a lot of sacrifice, but I think it's the only way I was ever going to get in balance and feel whole and capable.

I became a client at Fern Life in June 2011 after the gyno said I'd need a hysterectomy. Decided to get a second opinion and boy am I glad I did! Keesha ordered the blood work that should have been done by my regular doctor and discovered that I my issues could be treated with a much more gentle approach and that some other things were out of balance. I went on Ideal Protein weighing 163 and in 3 months I'm down to 140 and feeling like a new woman! I have been less tired and more focused since taking her advice. It wasn't easy at first, making the life changes I needed to, but the results speak for themselves.

The girls at the front desk are wonderful and everyone there always made me feel important and cared about. Fern Life/Keesha/Gillian changed my life for the better and for that I'm truly grateful. God Bless Fern Life Center!!

Keesha is a wonderful person that radiates warmth and compassion. She takes a lot of time listening to her clients problems and concerns. When I say " a lot of time" I mean and hour and more. Now, where do receive this much attention? Definitely not at a doctors office.
She is extremely knowledgeable in her field of functional medicine and anyone who sees her is blessed to be in her care. And in her practice the patient always has a choice.
I have a lot of respect and appreciation for her. She is a leading practitioner practicing and living the holistic approach of medicine, treating the body, mind and spirit. What a gift!

I worked with Keesha for over two years in various ways. Fortunately, my insurance covered a lot of costs, not supplements, though. Some tests were not covered and were pricey but gave me information other tests could not, and though I no longer live in the area, I am still using that info as a focus in my diet and lifestyle work. I also did advanced Reiki training with Keesha and that was a beautiful and transformative experience. Since I was already in a state of insulin resistance, the ayurvedic diet did not work for me for weight loss, although I felt generally healthier, but the Ideal Protein protocol that Keesha brought into her clinic worked extremely well and was very worth the investment. I lost 45 lbs, and four blood readings normalized in 2.5 months. This included a drop in triglycerides of over 100 points. I got 3 of my siblings and a niece on the protocol and we have dropped collectively, 275 lbs. So five people can thank Keesha for vast improvement in health and only one was her patient. Keesha is very down to earth, highly trained and has great integrity, kindness and the highest intentions for her patients' well being.

I've been going here for months. I never feel rushed and always feel as though my concerns are addressed.
I bought the suggested supplements and then later checked to see if I could get them online (same brand) any cheaper and found that I could not. (although they are transitioning to a house brand, so you can't compare as easily anymore) They have a supplement punch card which gives you the 10th one free, so if you factor that in, it's cheaper to buy from Fern Life.
Everything Keesha tells you to do is a suggestion. If you can't afford something, don't do it. I took her advise and am improving. After years of MD's prescribing this or that or worse still shrugging their shoulders - she actually gotten down to the cause. Read up on what she tells you and educate yourself - understand why she recommends what she does.
She also did not recommend no fruits and veggies for me, so I don't think she gives out the same recommendations to everyone.
Overall, I think Keesha is a compassionate and well educated medical practitioner and I would highly recommend her.

I am a pharmacist by profession and spend my days dishing out pills of all kinds with many toxic side effects. Although there is certainly a place for medication I believe that we each have to take personal responsibility for our health and seek to find the root cause of our ill health. I have had health challenges for many years and have seen many doctors as well as naturopaths with little or no improvement. Keesha is the first one that has been able to truly help me. I have seen her for about three months and for the first time in years I am feeling better. In all my interactions at Fernlife center I have always been treated with compassion and respect and never just like a number. A visit here can potentially make a huge improvement in your health!

My teenage daughters and I have been going to the Fern Life Center and receiving excellent care from Keesha Ewers for nearly a year now. I was looking for a health care provider who blended allopathic medicine with functional medicine and who could also help us with our food allergies. I want my children to understand that there are many choices for us as health care consumers on who we choose to provide us with care. Keesha has a thorough knowledge of all of the intricate systems of the body and how they work together. She has given each of us individualized care and dug deep to learn how to bring about our optimal health. She provides us with the tools and resources that we need to make our own everyday choices. She also has helped us to understand the profound impact that food has on our mood and what shifts we can make to help us on our path to a healthier life.

I logged on to send Fern Life a Review of my wonderful experiences there. I am a firefighter, and have been dealing with the Western System for years. They've been great. However daily at work I see aging people with huge lists of medication from multiple doctors and they only seem to get worse.
My wife and I began seeing Keesha Ewers when our insurance would no longer cover our Naturopath. Keesha Is an AARNP and is covered as a Western Practitioner. She happens to focus on Ayruveda which is a more holistic approach more akin to a Naturopath. She has even treated sexual issues as a couple and not with little blue pills!
The process for establishing baseline is a common Ayurveda approach by eliminating foods that are typical to irritation and are then re-introduced (Naturopaths do this too). A Western doc asks a few questions and writes a script. Again, you can put out the fire but it's best to find the cause before it starts. Or put the fire out from it's source. Ayurveda sees the source sometimes as getting the whole body in balance. If necessary she takes care of obvious problems directly as a Doc would do. I recently had a staph infection which she gave me a Western Script for. My naturopath would have given me more sups.
About treatment with supplements: sure they are not cheap, and many times not covered under insurance. So, then talk to Keesha about it she's given them priorities and even told me where else I could find them (such as probiotics).
She offeres lifestyle counseling that sometimes means that an adjustment in diet, ridding of caffeine and additive poisoned foods might eliminate the need to take much extra.
Her clinic is also a wellness and learning center where you can receive Massage, Colon Hydrotherapy, Dermal Care, Counseling, Meditation classes and groups, Reiki Classes and groups, even QiGong Life Force classes! Some of this stuff is free! Studies have proven the long term benefits of many of the Ferns supporting modalities.
Keesha can be reached by email and even readily gives her cell phone number. She has talked to me from out of state! When I visit, she greets me personally.
If you want to keep going to the local clinic now run by the local hospital, wait when you get there, spend more time with a technician weighing you and takeing your history and BP and finally getting your 4 minutes with the doc who is happy to whip out the script pad and make it all better. Go ahead. I'm progressing into the future of real health care, and real self care.
I'd give the Fern a "10" if I could.
—Brian D.

Keesha and the Fern Life Center changed my life! It's simple: if you want help in any facet of your life this is the place to come. The atmosphere is inviting and the knowledge of Keesha and her staff is second to none. If one approach doesn't work Keesha has plenty of experience for different avenues. For me, I learned so much I don't know where to begin. But the knowledge I gained was enough to change my perspective on my health and happiness.

When you enter the world of Ayurveda, I suggest that you suspend your beliefs about what you know and what you think you know about healing. Ayurveda is simple at its core and complex in its manifestation. Treatments are customized to the body type with the goal being to bring the body back into balance. This route to healing needs your full personal attention because ultimately you are your own healer. If you choose Fern Life Center, you will be guided, treated, and counseled with great compassion and experience by Keesha Ewers. As an ARNP and Master of Ayurveda, Keesha is able to provide multi-dimensional healing perspectives hard to find elsewhere.
My story: In 2007 I heard about Fern Life Center after reading about Ayurveda for 20 years. At the time I was experiencing a major burnout in energy and vitality. During my initial consultation, I did a lot of talking and Keesha did a lot of listening. We ended up having a very uplifting dialogue during which I felt connected to her. It is vital to like and trust the person who you choose to partner with in your healing. I did a month-long liver detoxification ending with the sublime Panchakarma treatment. It was not easy, but it was effective. I was once again fully alive.

My journey with Keesha, and Fern Life Center, began in February 2008. Upon my initial consultation, my heart & spirit knew Keesha was the access for wellness & freedom in my life; to help fulfill both a physical and emotional need. My now husband, and I, proceeded to undergo Ayurvedic Pancha Karmas shortly after; and continued to meet with Keesha to focus on our individual growth and healing. From our commitment to trust Keesha, I was able to climb the "mountains" I placed within my life decades ago (like peeling back the layers of an onion); to allow myself to heal and have compassion within my life. These events were a catalyst that created a sense of freedom in my life that I honestly thought wasn't possible to achieve.

I am now working with Keesha to explore possible allergies/sensitivities that I may have to food and/or my environment. I am in my third week of the Elimination Diet and looking forward to begin the NAET treatments within the next week or so. I believe this will be incredibly helpful to sustain continued wellness within my life.

I have also visited Fern Life Center for monthly facials & Ayurvedic massages; they are amazing! (Note: I live north of Seattle, and traveled monthly to Issaquah for my facials!) I love their Eminence skin care line, and have also just recently started using the Fern Life Center skin care line; both lines are wonderful & healing natural products.

The Effortless Mind Meditation Course with Ajayan was also a great introduction to a daily meditation practice; and provides an opportunity to practice meditation within a supportive community.

I would highly recommend working with Keesha as well as participating within the variety of other offerings available at the Fern Life Center. The commitment to take on a treatment/program is one that may test your willpower, yet I would urge you to trust in yourself and in Keesha. Within my and my husband's experience, it's as if Keesha can see our "blind spots" before they can been seen by our own hearts/spirit/minds. Cultivating a belief that you can work through it and follow through with the program, you will see results; and you will have felt the freedom and healing that they will bring.

Best of wishes to each of you who read this; I hope you find the answers you are searching for within your pursuit of wellness. Take Care.
—Renee F.

I visited the Fern Life Center for the first time on Wednesday, November 9th. Just wanted to send along a 'THANK YOU' note. When I walked in, I immediately became aware of the lovely, tranquil feeling of the waiting area. I was promptly greeted by the kind-hearted individual sitting at the front desk. Once I completed my initial paperwork, I waited only a matter of minutes before the practitioner for my COLON HYDROTHERAPY came to get me. She was very, very good about explaining things to me, answering questions and even offered me a cup of tea and educational hand-outs when I was finished with the treatment. All in all, it was a good experience for me.
You guys are a 'class act!' I just wanted to say 'thanks!' You'll likely see me again and I won't hesitate in referring friends to Fern Life.

Erin, I just wanted to say it was a DELIGHT meeting with you yesterday. You're a very intelligent, kind, thoughtful and caring young lady. You made me feel comfortable and it seems like you really do care about my situation. I love your approach and I will follow your advice without question.
—James

I would like to give a kudo to Lorraine Holland.  She is the most understanding person I know.  She has been very patient with my ongoing struggle to lose weight, to stay on the weight loss track and to provide me advice.  She is a unique individual who really cares about me and my success and has really been supportive to get me there.  I suspect she is caring about all of her clients, not just me.  She has also been very understanding and empathetic about my issues around grief over Ross and has been a real spiritual inspiration for me.  I really appreciate her and look forward to my appointments with her.

Hello Keri,
I wanted to thank you for opening my eyes.  I am off Starbucks and making my own Match Green Tea.  I have found a coconut milk that is organic coconut milk from Pacific.  So it says!!  I still have some trader joes coconut milk that I need to finish.  It is always good to revisit what you thought was good for you. Thank you again for your help.
