Keesha has been in the medical field for over 26 years. It was after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and finding no cures in the western medical tradition that she began exploring “alternative medicine” routes and found Ayurvedic medicine, which completely cured her “incurable disease.” Keesha is a Certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) with a specialty in primary care or family practice (FNP), has a Master’s degree in Ayurveda is a certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, and is finishing her doctoral work in clinical sexology. She is a yoga teacher, Reiki Master, Angel Therapist, (certified with Doreen Virtue), and trained Shaman, which add richness and new dimensions to diagnosing and treating disease. Her role in the world is that of bridging, empowering and transforming.

Keesha believes strongly that the body should be allowed to heal itself and is conservative in prescribing Western medical drugs. However, she also believes that for acute illness, Western medications should not be ruled out and does use them to bring the body into homeostasis so that the journey to authentic balance can begin. She studied Planetary Herbology with Michael and Leslie Tierra with the intent to integrate Chinese, Western, and Indian traditions and bring Fern Life Center’s source of herbal botanicals closer to home.

Keesha travels the world studying indigenous ways of healing and has come to the conclusion that our spirituality and stories of creation cannot be separated from what is happening in the body, or on contemporary political and social stages in the world.

Keesha finds joy in her four amazing children, her wonderful husband Ajayan, and their “wonder dog,” Sophie whom you will likely meet at Fern Life Center in her office. (She is a Golden Doodle and therefore hypo-allergenic with a Kapha dosha and therefore very mellow.)
