2013 Trip to Machu Picchu with Keesha and Friends

Machu PicchuImmerse in the Mystical Magic of ancient Machu Picchu while experiencing the warm and welcoming spiritual and cultural life of Andean Peru.

There is an ancient Peruvian prophecy that the land of the Eagle (North America) will join with the land of the Condor (South America) to assist in the evolution of human consciousness and the preservation of Mother Earth or Pachamama. Until now, the land of the Eagle has been largely asleep and it has been up to the land of the Condor to be the steward and keeper of the ancient spiritual wisdom of Atlantis. Be a part of the awakening of modern humanity and transform your life with a once in a lifetime journey to Peru with Keesha’s shamanic teacher, Puma.

Immerse yourself in the power centers of the earth located in and around the Andean region, including the mystical wonder of the world, Machu Picchu. In the company of the wisdom keepers of the Andes, the Q’ero Shamans, experience the medicine of the earth, open your chakras through the wisdom of the four directions and the five elements. Take part in Munay-Ki rites, sacred fire ceremonies, Despacho ceremonies (offerings), cultural and spiritual exploration, San Pedro medicine (optional), guided meditations, and bathe yourself in the spiritual energy of sacred temples, at this most auspicious time of planetary growth, in the Andes.

There is much debate in modern Peru about the fate of its valuable resources, ancient ruins and spiritual sites. Machu Picchu’s Inka trail is now only traveled by a certain number of tourists per week. If you would like to be part of this number it is time to commit to the Universe your intention and manifest this dream. A cable car has been suggested to reach Machu Picchu, shutting the site down to tourists has been suggested, even a monorail is being floated as an idea. There is a time in the near future when this sacred site will be off limits. If you have always wanted to take this trip, now is the time.

The Peruvians call the mountains that guard Cusco Apus, or wisdom keepers. Keesha has journey to each of the two sentinels of Cusco and trekked to the glaciers to receive an awakening with each one. They are truly powerful and you will never be the same again once you have meditated with them. There is a saying, “We sit together the mountain and me, until only the mountain remains”. This is what being in the Andes can mean for you also. The Dalai Lama has said that the Andes are the feminine guardians of the Earth and the Himalayas are the male guardians. Come and find out what it means to awaken the feminine, grounded, solid power of Salkantay…you will never be the same again.

Our trip will include an optional four-day trek into Machu Picchu and will require a medical provider’s note of fitness/health before you embark. The journey to Machu Picchu itself is an initiation and cleansing that will be transformational. This sacred journey is structured for those who are ready for a full-scale reawakening to their own Divine Presence.

You have a choice: You can hike the entire Inca Trail, or you can hike part of it.  You have another choice: You can have a porter carry your gear, or you can carry it yourself.  In either case, they will do the cooking, help you set up your tents, and tell stories beneath the stars.

Those hiking the entire Inca trail will take a bus to the trailhead and begin the four-day trek to Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas.  For those who aren't sure which option to choose, check with Keesha and she can let you know about the stairs, the mountain passes, and the sunrise view from the Sun Gate over Machu Picchu (that is nothing less than an opportunity for a spiritual awakening in itself).

Weather permitting; we will walk with breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and majestic cloud forests.  We will camp and eat on the trail and have the option to have porters to carry some or all of our gear.  On day four, we will wander through the ruins of Machu Picchu, the best known and most spectacular archaeological site in South America.  Exploring the maze of the Incan city with its many plazas, tombs, and temples is an awe-inspiring and unforgettable experience—especially when your guide is an authentic and widely respected Incan Shaman.  We will take an evening train back to Cusco and spend the night relaxing and enjoying a good meal and a hot shower.

Those who choose not to make the four-day trip to Machu Picchu will have two extra days to explore the beautiful town of Cusco and the mountains and ruins surrounding the town.  On day 3 you will take a bus to the starting point for the two-day walk to Machu Picchu.  Spending one night on the trail, you will arrive at Machu Picchu the same day as the other group.  You will explore the ancient city together and take a bus back to Cusco in the evening.

Join Keesha and Puma and find your inner shaman within the sacred walls, Apus (mountains or wisdom keepers of the Earth), and valleys of ancient and modern Peru. Keesha’s guides have told her this could be her last trip as the climate of Peru is shifting and these ancient wonders of the world are being over-traffiked.
